Aged and Bottled in Clear Glass Only...
for Purity to Support Health!
EXCERPT FROM STUDY - "Out of the glass from 89 bottles and fragments analysed using x-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry, 76 were positive for low levels of lead and 55 positive for cadmium. Chromium was detected in all green and UVAG bottles, but was only in 40% of brown glass and was never in clear glass"
Colored wine bottles are shown in this scientific study to contain lead, chromium and cadmium from the coloring agents. These colored bottles are widely used in the wine industry to block light from the wine, which supposedly could change the taste over a very long time. This notion completely overlooks the fact that the toxic heavy metals can also be leached into the liquid and affect the taste, purity and healthfulness in a much more drastic way - and even more certainly with a bioactive natural spontaneous fermentation wine.
Therefore we only age and bottle in pure clear glass for health
Additionally, even with seemingly clear wine bottles, which are termed "flint" in the bottle industry, there are still metal oxides in the glass which cause a green hue to the bottle and base when you look closely. These are metals in the glass that can become metal oxides in your wine. Therefore, we only use "extra flint" bottles. This means the glass is higher quality and pure to the level that those metal oxides are not present. This is an extra step and harder to obtain, but we believe it's important to preserve the quality and taste of the wine.
(For anyone that holds a concern regarding light during long term storage, and so chooses, the bottle can be easily wrapped/shielded to block light, while maintaining it's purity in the pure clear glass bottle. We don't hold this concern of light as a factor with a spontaneous natural fermentation, which leaves the wine bioactive and naturally preserved, but the option is always available)
